SAM E. LUCAS, ESQ.
Mr. Lucas is principally engaged in the practice of business and entertainment law, with a particular focus on transactional matters, such as contracts, trademarks, compliance, business formation, and partnership agreements.
Mr. Lucas received his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School after graduating from the school’s prestigious two-year accelerated SCALE program. While in law school, Mr. Lucas served as a student editor of the International Media and Entertainment Law Journal and as president of OUTlaw. Mr. Lucas competed in the 2007 Williams Institute Moot Court competition at UCLA School of Law and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for his outstanding performance in the area of Evidence/Trial Advocacy. In 2007, Mr. Lucas served as a judicial extern in the chambers of the Honorable S. James Otero of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Mr. Lucas is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and was appointed in 2013 to the organization’s Diversity in the Profession Committee. Mr. Lucas is also a member of the Lesbian and Gay Lawyers Association of Los Angeles. He currently volunteers his time at Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles (formerly the Asian Pacific American Legal Center) and has served as a volunteer attorney at Bet Tzedek Legal Services and the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, serving low-income clients.
Prior to his legal career, Mr. Lucas managed business redevelopment efforts on the Sunset Strip as the first-ever Executive Director of the Sunset Strip Business Improvement District. With a background in marketing and public relations, Mr. Lucas has also managed and consulted on national, state and local political campaigns.
